Suspension Hearing Postponed Until July 13 For Nate Marquardt

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission have revealed that a hearing to address the indefinite suspension of Nat Marquardt has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 13.
Marquardt’s representatives have submitted documents pertaining to and detailing the testosterone-replacement therapy the welterweight underwent prior to a bout against Rick Story at UFC on Versus 4, with the treatment beginning last August.
PSAC Executive Director Greg Sirb disclosed that the commission will review said documents before ultimately deciding whether to uphold or remove Marquardt’s suspension.
The PSAC did not medically clear Marquardt to fight Story when pre-fight blood tests revealed that his testosterone levels exceeded the commission’s fixed limits. Marquardt was subsequently suspended indefinitely before being released from the UFC.
Marquardt’s representatives have said that the one-time middleweight title contender submitted multiple blood tests the week of the event, with his testosterone levels trending down to the point where Marquardt would have been within the pre-determined parameters on the day of the fight.
Marquardt’s manager Lex McMahon was confident the suspension would be lifted once PSAC officials were able to review medical paperwork relating to the fighter’s case.
“We’re 100 percent on target to get him removed from suspension,” said McMahon.
