Bellator Fighting Championships will be moving their events to Friday nights beginning with the start of their sixth season on March 2, according to USAToday.com.

The sixth season will continue to air on MTV2, with the change coming to avoid direct contention with other high-profile programming such as the UFC.

Despite the planned move, Bellator may still find themselves competing with a number of other MMA outfits, including possible Strikeforce shows, HDNet-broadcast local shows such as Titan Fighting Championships and the UFC’s reality series “The Ultimate Fighter”, which will on FX Friday nights.

Bellator will look to build on a season-five viewer average of 186,300 viewers per show.
